Editing Beach Reports and Updates
You can now submit beach reports and updates for the site directly. This should be a great improvement on the old days, when beach reports were sent to the Captain by email, and updates depended on the hardworking Captain having time to update the site. Which, let's be honest, didn't happen often.
The only condition is that you have to be a member of the site. Joining is quick, easy and free - presumably you'll have done it already.
You should first of all read the Wikidot privacy policy. Editing the site is easy too.
First log on, then go to the Island's page you want to edit. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, where you will find a series of links:
Click on the "edit" link, and the editing panel opens.
Wiki sites like this one use a special syntax - but you don't need to learn it to edit Cap'n Barefoot's Naturist Guide. You can just type in text.
If you want to insert a heading, type ++[space]
If you want to make a block of text Bold, simply select it and click the bold "B" in the editing panel.
You can make text italic or underline it in a similar way.
Links
You can make links to other pages using the Wizard in the editing panel.
Images
You can also upload images to the site using the Wizard in the editing panel - but do not include any spaces in the image name. For example:
"nudist beach.jpg" will not work, but "nudist_beach.jpg" will. Because of Wikidot terms and conditions, and yes, I know this is a naturist site, but please do not include images of explicit or frontal nudity.
Don't forget to click "Save" when you've finished!
And don't use "Back" when you're editing.

A few points to remember …
- Try to keep your contribution in line with the overall style of the site.
- Be polite - remember your reader.
- This site is intended to promote naturism. It isn't intended for contacts, swingers and the like.
- Images are welcome - but please be aware that the Wikidot terms and conditions prohibit explicit or frontal nudity.
- Edits can be reversed - and will be, if the site owner or moderators consider that an entry is inappropriate or likely to bring the practice of naturism into disrepute.
